The King of Bitters commonly called false water willow, Indian echinaechia, King of Bitters or Kariyat is a small herbaceous and evergreen plant native to Sri Lanka and India. The plant prefers a hot, humid climate with plenty of sun. It reaches 1 to 3 feet in height when mature. It produces small white flowers with purple spots and will grow in all soil conditions as long as enough moisture is present.
King of Bitters is used in traditional medicine and is shown to possess immunity enhancing properties that stimulates the immune system. It is also used as a treatment for diseases and infections. The roots and leaves are used for the medicinal uses.
